I have to get it together with my diet. I need to start now. I wish there was an app where I could tell it to remind me to eat & tell me what to eat, but there isn’t, so I’ll have to do it myself. I’ve talked a bit about some of the changes I want to make to my diet– now I need to put them into action.

First, I have to cut back on or eliminate extra sugar. I drink about 6-10 TBSP of sugar a day in my coffee. That’s a lot. And then I might have soda on top of that. So I have to cut back on the sugar. I’m going to try to go cold turkey on sugar (hey, I did it with cheese, and I was a lot more addicted to that!)

Second, I have to plan my meals better and eat more vegetables. Thursday is Chipotle day and I’m not messing with that, but starting Friday, I’m going to plan my meals and make sure I have lots of vegetables at every meal/snack except for breakfast.

I’m going to cut back severely on processed food. Usually, those are my snacks- potato chips, etc. I’ll save them for when I’m traveling and need something I can stash in a bag.

I really want to achieve my best physical fitness possible at my age and with my health. I think losing fat and getting into better shape will only help with my asthma.

I think I’ve said before that I want to lose 15 pounds by Dec 31. That will get me a little more than halfway from here to my ultimate goal. I really feel like I can do this. I’ve educated myself; I just need to plan and put this into motion. The diet is about 80-percent of it. The other 20 will be running, skating, and weight training (focusing on kettlebells, squats, lunges, deadlifts, pull-ups, and tricep dips.)
