I have been trying to lose weight since 1999. I used to live in Europe and was a normal weight, except when I was pregnant with my son and nursing. When we moved to the states in 1999, I gained a lot of weight. I gained more when I started grad school. In 2006, I lost some weight when I started running (again) and gave up soda and all animal products. I continued to lose weight slowly and steadily. In 2011, I find myself with 20-30 pounds to go. I’m trying to keep a healthy, balanced perspective on food and exercise.
I like to run marathons, so I want to be fit, healthy, and light enough to comfortably run at least one marathon a year for the foreseeable future. I finished the CellCom Green Bay Marathon in April 2010.
